New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced today that the state is witnessing the highest one-day increase in the number of deaths, according to “The Guardian”.
The governor noted that the three-day average of hospitalizations is declining, indicating that the state is reaching a plateau in the total number of hospitalizations. However, the death toll in New York continues to rise.
So far, the state has registered 5,489 deaths, of which 731 represent the highest one-day increase in the number of deaths since the crisis began.
New York also has the highest number of cases than in any American state, with 138,836 cases with COVID-19 confirmed so far.
